Black is beautiful! That’s the only way to describe Sasha. She came into our lives one fine March day. We had an emergency with one of our other cats and rushed him to the local vet. As we entered the clinic, we noticed a cage in a corner of the room with tiny kittens sleeping inside. It immediately caught our interest, and my husband went up to the cage and took a look. He had already picked out his favorite. As soon as we had our other cat settled in an exam room, I went back out to have a look. Three little heads inside a hammock-like enclosure peeped out at me. The liveliest of the three was Sasha. I went back to the exam room and told my husband how cute they were. On inquiring about them I learned that two of the three were up for adoption. I asked if one of them was a girl. The only girl was taken! Crestfallen, I told my husband that the only girl was not available. Seeing how disappointed I was, the receptionist said I could put my name down in case the other person did not show up to claim the cat. Great! At least there was a chance. Well, as it turned out, the other lady never showed up and could not be reached! The doctor made a spontaneous decision to let us take Sasha, and after approving our background history with pets, she was ours. Wow! Were we in heaven! It was meant to be.

She has grown into a fine young lady. Sasha has the most beautiful luminous green eyes in a jet black face. She looks like an Egyptian statue. Her coat is like black silk – and she acts like a princess! I have a pink jeweled collar for her which gives her a royal look. Her white diamond crystal collar against her jet black coat is striking! She also loves to run like the wind and launch herself into space. I wouldn’t be surprised if she could fly. Sasha is also affectionate and purrs loudly when we cuddle in bed. This is a cat full of charm and luck. We are so grateful and lucky that the other person never showed up to claim her. It doesn’t get any better than a gorgeous, green-eyed feline. I know she used her magical powers to become a member of our family! She is truly an enchanted cat!

Here is some cat lore:

The early Egyptians believed the cat to be a sacred animal and erected bejeweled statues of cats in their temples. (No wonder Sasha likes jewels!)

They believed cats were endowed with magical powers and keen intuition.

Cats are a protection against snakes and rodents! (How true!)

The Celtic people believed the cat brought good luck, comfort and protection.

That cats are graceful, mysterious, mystical and sensual!
